Back in June at our North American Job Board Summit, one of our keynote speakers on the topic of “Mobile Recruiting” was Michael Marlatt. As well as being a recruiter, Michael has built the amazing mRec, the world’s largest conference on Mobile and Recruiting.
In its 3rd year, this year’s event on the 23rd/24th September in Atlanta sees recruiting leaders from organisations such as Groupon, LinkedIn, PepsiCo, Accenture and an amazing line up of speakers descend for this two-day mobile recruiting fest. We are delighted to announce that Jobg8 will be attending and sharing details of the event via our blog and twitter feed.
Michael has also agreed to do an exclusive interview with us on what he sees as the challenges for jobs boards in developing a mobile approach. This, along with our recent blog on the subject “Top 5 tips for job boards going mobile” from UK mobile recruitment expert Dave Martin, give our job board community great insights into this critical topic.
For most job boards the key question for is no longer “why”, instead it is “how” can we go mobile. Yes, an mSite is key BUT how do you “think mobile” after all your focus has been to “think internet” from the UI to the business model. Mobile opens a word of opportunity and I for one am really looking forward to attending the event.
The event has an incredible line up of speakers and deciding on which ones to attend will be tough but I am looking forward to the following sessions:
- James Beriker, Simply Hired
- Debbie Tuel, Career Builder
- Ed Newman, iMomentous
- Wen Tian, Snaphop
- Matthew Caldwell, Mozilla
Like all events today, they showcase the latest examples of mobile innovation and I’m particularly looking forward to this and hopefully sharing some gems with you.
It’s also great to that on day two at 2pm our own Dave Martin will be sharing pragmatic advice from his vast experience in the mobile space.
Finally Matt Alder and Dave Martin, co-authors of “Mobile Recruiting Guide 2012” will be providing free, ‘pre-release’ copies of this year’s guide. It is snappily titled “Mobile Recruiting Guide 2013” with a foreword written by this year’s mRec emcee – Chris Hoyt. So make sure you register for your copy!
See you September 23-24 in Atlanta, GA.
